Gundam MP02A- WIP

Thought I should post up a gunpla WIP as I have not posted one up for a while. Doesnt mean I have not been doing anything in this area, Im just really lazy!

Presenting the Gundam MP02A AKA the BFS (S=Shield)

This is my lead in build before I tackle my Gundam Mushsa II (something to settle the hand!!)
Found at the bottom of my pitiful backlog. I think it was a picked substitute by a staffer at Hobbyco when they messed up my first online order with them!!

Good pick now I think about it as I loves me an unusual gundam!!

During its military reconstruction following the devastating One Year War, the Earth Federation contracted a private company, Anaheim Electronics, to develop a series of new Gundam-model mobile suits to serve as conceptual testbeds for new and improved mobile suit technology. One of the first prototypes to come out of Anaheim's Von Braun City lunar factory was the RX-78GP02A Gundam, code-named "Physalis." The GP02A and another prototype, the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes", along with Anaheim systems engineer Nina Purpleton and her team of technicians, were brought aboard the assault carrier Albion to be delivered to Earth for testing under full gravity. Arriving at Torrington Base in Australia for the field trials, the GP02A was loaded with a nuclear warhead, but was immediately hijacked by remnant Zeon military forces led by Anavel Gato. In the weeks to follow, Gato would escape into space with his stolen Gundam, joining up with Admiral Aiguille Delaz's fleet for a critical roll in their "Operation Stardust." To diffuse the Delaz threat, the Earth Federation Forces carried out their Naval Review ceremony, assembling most of the entire Federation fleet at the Konpeitoh asteroid base in a show of force. However, this was a primary target of Operation Stardust, and Gato used the GP02A's nuclear warhead to singlehandedly destroy or disable two-thirds of the fleet stationed there.

Built expressly for tactical nuclear warfare, the GP02A's primary armament was a large atomic bazooka, capable of launching a strategic-use Mark-82 nuclear warhead. The Gundam was also heavily armored enough to withstand the nuclear blast unleashed by its bazooka, and even carried a shield large enough to provide extra protection for most of the unit's body and contained cooling systems to help dissipate the heat it would absorb. The shield also carried the trigger and barrel for the atomic bazooka when it was no deployed for use. The GP02A was also designed to survive in close combat, being armed with standard head vulcan guns and a pair of beam sabers. With enough thrusters and verniers to keep it fast and agile despite its mass, the Gundam GP02A was truly "tactical" in a sense, though its use would have "strategic" consequences for the Earth Sphere.

The BFS- this thing is huge!! Rather corny and out of place but I love it!

Feeling a bit sappy and down…

A somewhat personal post but please dont read anything into it- I just need a little rant!

Today (if things had gone my way and common sense and patience prevailed), I would have been flying to Japan.

In fact, as of this posting, i would be about 4 hours away from Tokyo.

And I feel quite crappy about that fact.

Given the term I have had, it would have been great to just get away and go back  to the country I feel a great affinity with. Not that I wont enjoy spending time with my family but up until the tsunami and earthquake (and subsequent nuclear reactor meltdown), everything was hinging on this trip: it was keeping me going. When the plug was pulled very quickly after the triple disaster (even when the Australian gov't and Australian Nuclear Agency was saying it was safe), things just seemed to take a nose dive for me. Pulling double duty at work as the other member of my department left didnt help as I have had and will continue to for the next month or so, do everything including all of the reports from K-10 and all the marking from 7-10 whilst preparing for an inspection in the 3rd week of term, but things just have not been fun, especially for the second half of the last term (some people really shit me with their petty ways and the desire to intimidate people they think are 'beneath' them) and Im just really thinking about things I probably shouldnt be thinking about-Lisa's death a couple of weeks back and Kery's health issues really got me thinking about stuff: nothing too serious but its just not where I want my head to be at the moment and todays lack of lift off was the icing on the cake!

Just finished watching Rock Star on tele and it features my all time favourite song 'Colorful' by the Verve Pipe which has again rattled me a little for some reason- maybe its the lack  of sleep or just my paranoia…either way, I had to post something to get it off my chest.

Now to leave you with the lyrics so I can be even more emo……. but it is a beautiful song!

COLORFUL-The Verve Pipe

The show is over close the story book
They'll be no encore
And all the random hands that I have shook
Well they're, reaching for the door
I watch their backs as they leave single file
But you stood stubborn, cheering all the while

I know I can be colorful
I know I can be gray
But I know this loser's living fortunate
Cause I know, you will love me either way

Most were being good for goodness sake
But you wouldn't pantomime
You are more beautiful when you awake
Than most are in a lifetime
Through the haze that is my memory well
You stayed for drama though you paid for a comedy and

I know I can be colorful
I know I can be gray
But I know this loser's living fortunate
Cause I know, you will love me either way

Look ahead as far as you can see it
We'll live in drama but we'll die in a comedy and
I know I can be colorful (we're living in color blind)
I know I can be gray (my colors fade away)
And I know this losers living fortunate
Cause I know, you will love me
Yes I know, you will love me
I know, you will love me
Either way

And so it begins…

Mark the 21st of September on your calendars as its the International Day of Peace. Started by the amazing Jeremy Gilley (yes, I have a secret man-crush) and continued by his equally amazing group Peace One Day, it is sincerely a goal I hope that they achieve within my lifetime.

As Jeremy says, "We could have a beautiful peaceful world on the 21st of September each year if everyone makes a committment to do something. It doesn't matter how big or small, as long as you say to yourself, "It's peace day today, one day, because of me and my commitment, our world will be united!" "

"When you build a house, you start with one brick. If we want to build peace, we should start with one day. And that day has arrived."

Dodgy Lesson Planning

Last Friday, I decided to do essay writing practice with my Seniors. After listening to a group of Yr 10's singing during lunchtime outside my office and the following was my 'lesson plan'.

Yes, this is posted from school as Im trying out some new software that allows me to tether my phones connection to my laptop to allow me internet access at school (I dont currently have access via the school network and no-one can work it out)
